Positively BUZZING STEAM:  Workshop for Informal and Formal Elementary Settings

This hands-on training from 1st-Gen Scholars helps support mathematics and science teaching in both formal and informal elementary (K5) settings. 1st-GenScholars.org will facilitate a STEAM Maker Lesson Workshop for participants that is ready-made, inclusive of science TEKS, NGSS, and ELPS for English Language Learners.  Participants will engage in discussion to bridge the gender divide of young women in STEM/Tech. Differentiation strategies utilizing interdisciplinary STEM will be presented, participants will observe and experience the excitement of STEAM learning first-hand.  At the completion of the workshop participants will leave with a STEAM lesson to continue to inspire young girls to explore and discover the world of STEM/ Tech!!!

ST"EMpowering" Anywhere Anytime Through Innovative PK-12 Practices

Let us share with you the innovative practices we are implementing PK-12 to foster a community that embraces equity and empowers girls to seek out STEM Learning Experiences.  These practices include classroom instructional strategies, community outreach programs, and equipping high school mentors to support younger girls in STEM.  We are also looking to build our collaborative network with other likeminded individuals and organizations to further our work in STEM Equity.
